Whether you want to trim back your pubic hair or bare all with a new intimate hair do, it's essential to get your trimming technique down to a fine art before you head downstairs. There's nothing worse than taking your razor to your groin, only to realise afterwards that facial hair is not quite the same thing as pubic hair. The result? It itches. In a worst case scenario, it burns. Let's get it right the first time, eh?
Sure it sounds simple, but you'd be amazed at how many people trim their pubic hair on a whim in the shower with whatever they have on hand. Forget about your normal razor, and don't think about chopping off your hair with a pair of scissors. Opt for a pubic hair trimmer instead and you can use interchangeable blade heads in different sizes so you can get into those hard to reach places without worrying about contorting like a gymnast.
If you haven't done this before, trimming your pubic hair can be a surprising experience. You'd never guess how much hair really is down there and it gets everywhere. Trim your hair while standing up in the shower or the bath (with the water off) to keep the hair from getting into your bathroom crevices. When you're done, simply switch on the water and wash the mess away.
It's important to completely soap up and clean off after trimming or shaving completely. This will help wash away any errant hairs and will help to prevent itching caused by leftover cut hairs. You definitely don't want to skip this step if you're tidying up for a big night in the sack: there's nothing worse than your girl getting little black hairs all over her chin.
Baby powder is a universal after bathing treatment, and is especially effective for soothing a newly trimmed pubic region. Use baby powder as an after shave to prevent any itching or discomfort. There are also specially formulated pubic area after shaves which will help you if you have sensitive skin.
If shaving and trimming sounds like way to much work for you, you could keep the hair off for good with hair inhibitor spray or cream that works to slow down hair production and growth. It takes a few months with constant treatment, but it'll sort out your hairy problem once and for all.
