Married Men Who Help With The Housework Get Less Sex

By Elena Ognivtseva

Guys, if you're looking for a way out of doing the dishes or getting the vacuum cleaner out: here it is. A recent study conducted in Milan shows that married men who help with housework get less sex. The study also showed that married women who do the housework get more sex.

Ladies, don't be alarmed. Before you get your knickers in a twist, the rest of the study shows that married men who do more masculine household chores such as chopping wood or fixing the car are more likely to have more sex and better sex, at that.

The study was conducted in Milan by Dr Sabino Kornrich, from the Juan March Institute. The study evaluated data in the US National Survey of Families and Households, and looked at sexual satisfaction for both men and women, as well as sexual drive, and sexual participation.

Although he found that men were more interested in sex and more likely to enjoy it after doing manly house chores, he also noted that the women in the relationship experienced an increased satisfaction if their men helped around the house (even if they do the manly jobs!).

'The results suggest that adopting traditional gender roles is important to sexual desire and performance,' said Dr Kornrich. However, he also warned men not to try and avoid housework altogether in order to gain more sex.

'Men who refuse to help around the house could increase conflict in their marriage and lower their wives' marital satisfaction,' said Dr Kornrich.

Couples who are interested in having better sex more frequently should embrace stereotypical gender roles for household cleaning, the study suggests. So, swap your dish washing duty for a day fixing the lawn mower and you could be having better sex tonight!
