Dear Martina
While I was having a look at my husband’s Facebook account I noticed he’d recently “poked” two attractive women. Facebook has caused a few problems for us in the past so I’m quite sensitive to this type of thing. I don’t want to blow it out of proportion but should he really be “poking” other women.
I wonder what problems Facebook has caused in the past. I really do think that Facebook has a lot to answer for but then so do we for falling into traps like these. The term “poke” has sexual undertones but unless the women are sending messages that escalate the poking to flirting (such as “did you enjoy our poking last night”) then I wouldn’t worry. It’s a feature that sends push notifications to phones and all you have to do is hit one button to poke people back.
Don’t overthink Facebook. When the night’s draw in its easy to misinterpret what you see, photo likes, status updates, communication, but it’s just a website. If Facebook has been causing problems suggest a couples page, link up properly through timelines (new joint timelines are coming) or see how he feels about deleting these women.
Alternatively, find some gorgeous men on your friends list and get the poker out girl!
