The Many Benefits of Sex… Other than the obvious!

Most of us are well aware of and appreciate the most common side effects which a good sex life can bring! These common side effects include a content relationship, a general feeling of satisfaction and reduced stress and anxiety due to plenty of endorphins coursing around our bodies! But there are a number of advantageous side effects which you may not already be aware of. Read on to find out what they are.

It makes you happy: Following in from the above points concerning reduced stress and anxiety levels, plenty of good sex has been proven to make us happier. A study published in the American Economic Review questioned 900 American women about their daily lives and found that the women placed ‘intimate relations’ at the top of the happiness chart. Another study by the American National Bureau of Economic Research found that people who were having the most sex were by far the happiest.

Improves self-esteem: Having great sex can do wonders for your self-confidence and can make you feel more attractive and desired. Being able to perform well for yourself and your partner between the sheets will give you a certain healthy and confident glow which will in turn make you more confident in the bedroom. It’s a win win situation!

It reduces pain: Orgasms don’t just feel amazing they also help to ease pain. If you suffer from pain such as joint pain, headaches and period pain then your partner can play a part in reducing your perception of the pain. Orgasms are like natural painkillers due to the release of the hormones oxytocin and endorphins which increase your pain threshold. So having a headache is no longer a valid excuse for avoiding sex!

Reduces the risk of prostate cancer: Studies have suggested that men who ejaculate five or more times per week are less likely to develop prostate cancer. The process of ejaculation actually removes the products that can lead to cancer.

It is easy to see from the list above that regular sex has many benefits for our bodies and our minds, so ensure that you place sex as high on your to do list as possible to reap the benefits!
