What is Bestiality

By Elena Ognivtseva

This article is about bestiality. This could be cause some problems with some people but this article is not here to judge, just discuss. I will explain what it is, why people do it, and general views of the public.

So, what is bestiality? It is the act of people having sex with animals. That is all there is to it really. There are usual animals that people choose, from dogs to horses to eels. In most countries it is a banned practice as it comes under animal abuse laws and crimes against nature. It is commonly done in secluded locations where people cannot be seen doing it and those who have their picture or a video taken generally wear masks. Apparently it is common to go to a show in Mexico to see a woman having sex with a donkey, do not hold me to that though, it may just be a rumour.

So, why do people do it? Well, like gay, lesbian, bisexual, or straight; it is considered a sexual preference. People who take part are generally called zoophiles. It is performed by people who get turned on via animals instead of humans. In one such case on TV a few years ago there was a show about a woman who divorced her husband for her family dog. She described that not only was the dog better at sex, but it was more loyal, trustworthy and cared for her more than her husband ever did. From this we can see that it is not only sexual preference, it can be that people are driven to it out of affection. Whatever the case it is not as unusual thing as people might think.

So, how do people view bestiality. Well, I am sure you all know. It is generally with disgust, the thought that a person is morally wrong, and that they should be jailed. Personally I am not sure if this should be the case, it all depends on circumstances. If the person doing it is not harming the animal, that it is well cared for and looked after, and is having fun itself, then I can’t see the problem. As it turns out, quite a few people feel the same way. There is quite a large collection of images and videos on the internet to prove testament to this.

So, a conclusion with how I feel about it. It is not my thing, that is the best way to put it. It does not turn me on and I have no desire to see people having any kind of sexual relationship with an animal. In my opinion however, people can do what they wish so long as they are not harming anyone else. If someone wants to have sex with an animal, that is fine, so long as the animal is happy. I would suggest the person keep it behind closed doors but, to be frank, that is their problem, not mine. I am sure others have views on this so tell us about them.
