Introduction to anal vibrators

By Elena Ognivtseva

Anal vibrators are a type of sex toy designed to be put in the anus for pleasure. They are similar to butt plugs or dildos designed for the anus, except they are usually shorter and smoother.

The first form of an anal vibrator was probably Eunuch’s Fiddle, an egg-shaped object that was inserted into the anus and attached to a string and bow. The string was fiddled with, similar to how a violin is played, to create a vibrating sensation.

Today, anal vibrators can be used by men and women, together or alone, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Types of anal vibrators

Vibrating Beads

Vibrating beads are usually multiple balls connected to a string for easy retrieval. One or all of the beads may have a little vibrator inside.

Vibrating Eggs

Similar to vibrating beads, but usually are a single egg-shaped vibrator, and may not have a string. IMPORTANT: Any anal toy without a handle or string as a retrieval method may run the risk of getting lost or stuck in the rectum.

Vibrating Butt Plugs

These butt plugs are similar to dildos; however, they vibrate and have a flared base so that the plug does not get lost in the rectum.

Other Anal Vibrators

There are also many other designs of anal vibrators ranging from simple cylindrical shapes to vibrating dongs and more. Whatever you can dream up, chances are someone has designed it.

If you’re a first-timer, sticking something up your butt might not seem like your idea of a fun time. The area back there is tight and it’s puckered, kind of looking like its telling you NO! Butt your little butthole needs love, too. With some care and by following a few steps, you can open up your backdoor drop to a wonderfully satisfying world of pulsating toys.

Use the lube

We can’t stress this enough with any anal toy. The anus is not a self-lubricating organ, and because it is naturally held tight you are going to have to use a lot of lubrication to get something in there.

Relax!

Anything new takes time. If you are scared or your body is not relaxed, those naturally closed muscles will squeeze even tighter. It will be near impossible to get your vibrator in there, let alone feel pleasurable.

Take your time

Now that you’ve relaxed, move slowly. Guide your anal vibrator into the anus a little bit at a time, pausing for a while to let your body get used to having something stuck up there.

Not too far

Once you’ve gotten the vibrator up there, you might be tempted to stick it in all the way. Everyone’s body is different; however, the rectum is smaller than the vagina, yet it isn’t closed off. You don’t want to stick anything so far up that it will hurt or be hard to retrieve.

Have fun!

You’ve done everything else right, now switch your vibrator on (if you haven’t already) and enjoy the sensations it brings you. If you do it properly, using an anal vibrator won’t hurt at all; in fact, it can lead to indirect G-spot stimulation in women and prostate stimulation in men. Get ready for some powerful orgasms.
