Vampires vs Werewolves

Vampires vs Werewolves

Vampires vs Werewolves

By Tatyana Dyachenko

This is an age old argument, well going back as far as their creation. Well, elaborating slightly there as the first werewolves were in fact berserkers using wolf skins and hallucinogenic substances to make themselves better at fighting, and vampires came much later than berserkers – famously Dracula and so on. Eventually their existences, real or not, coincided enough for Hollywood to take interest in them. Ever since Vampires and Werewolves have been a part of peoples lives in films, TV show and books. Now, I bet you’re thinking here, Twilight. Well I forgive you for doing so but I must say I’ve not read any of the Twilight books nor have I seen the films, and from what I can judge in this love-hate society I’m probably better off this way. No, in fact I’m going to be discussing these fantasies without another reference to Twilight.

Firstly, despite the physical and supposedly physical evidence of the existence of both Vampires and Werewolves, they are truly in their element as great works of fiction. This is how any fantasy should be when it goes above and beyond the usual bedroom scenario. The fact of the matter is that as they are shown in Hollywood neither of them exist and it really therefore becomes your person opinion on them with how they progress in your fantasy.

For example, if you have ever read any of the ‘Women of the Otherworld’ series by Kelley Armstrong you will find that her views on werewolves and vampires are rather, mundane. Simply people trying to get by in a world where most people don’t even believe they exist. However if you’ve ever read any of the ‘Discworld’ series by Terry Pratchett, his views on werewolves and vampires are a lot more open ended, his vampires are cunning but most of them not cunning enough to deal with any human who can think quick on their feet, and the werewolves are really dog like in their wolf forms, to the point of washing their hair with anti-flea shampoo.

As far as taking them to a bedroom fantasy level goes it depends on what you actually like, what you’ve watched or read in the past which has influenced your view on them. If I am honest theres really never a right or wrong with this, not any more wrong than enjoying a good spank anyway. I can’t say more than it is your choice. Though I’ve never met a person who likes both, you like fangs or fur, never normally both. Even though people have attempted to combine them into a ‘Werepyre’ which is half werewolf half vampire, it only works sometimes and overall looses their ‘natural’ appeal.

For vampires its really dark and Gothic scenes, with blood letting to boot. Where the scenes become really more of a dominant and submissive style in the idea of one being a vampire the other being thrall, or human slave to the vampire. On the other hand werewolf fantasies will be a lot more primal, taking everything to a pure animal level with plenty of biting and scratching, screaming and howling. Either way you’re in for something more adventurous than normal in the bedroom and it depends really if you prefer dominance or primal rough sex.

Anyway, my opinion on this if you’re not already tied to one side of the coin is to read and watch as much as you can and form an honest opinion on which you find more attractive. No one can tell you, and hell you may like neither, its a rather specific fantasy after all. Werewolves vs Vampires, theres not really a winner here, only preference. Tell us yours.
