A UK couple have been left shamefaced as their office flirtations go public this week. Melanie Anderson, the receptionist at an oil services firm, accidentally forward on a racy chat with her fiance to her entire company.

We've all accidentally emailed somebody, or cc'd them into an email by mistake - but it's a rare occasion when someone 'replies to all" at work, or accidentally copies in the entire firm with intimate details of their sex lives.

Melanie Anderson's fiance Eric Knisz worked at the same firm, so you can imagine his surprise when he received a copy of his email with the entire office cc'd in. With intimate details like 'I love making love to you it's ace" and 'Hee hee sexy f*****, I fancy you xxx" being sent around their offices around the UK and across Twitter, it's no surprise that the couple weren't at work this morning.

So how exactly did the email trail in question make it out to the entire company? Was Melanie's email hijacked, or her account hacked? Was she set up?

No. It was an honest mistake. Melanie was trying to be helpful, and emailed her entire firm to let them know that the sandwich van was outside for the daily lunch run. Instead of sending it a new email, she accidentally used the one she had open - the cheeky chat with her fiance.

The HR director of the company involved announced, 'Personal emails are not encouraged at work and we have taken the appropriate action with the members of staff concerned." As it if wasn't embarrassing enough, the couple have now 'decided" to resign from their jobs over the email incident causing an uproar on Twitter with the tag #sandwichvan.
