Your honeymoon will be the most important vacation of your life, and you will no doubt choose a romantic destination. Maybe you’ll go to a tropical island or take the Grand Tour of Europe, reserve a room in an elegant hotel, dine at the finest restaurants, and see magnificent sights that you will remember for the rest of your life. But it is your honeymoon, and honeymoons are often synonymous with staying in the hotel room and having fantastic, mind-blowing sex!

Delightful expectations

Let’s be realistic, your honeymoon night probably isn’t going to be your first time together, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Even if you are already old hands at sex and know what pleases one another, your honeymoon will still bring in a whole new element to your sexual lives together. You have, maybe for the first time, an extended period of time during which you are free from your other daily obligations, when you can explore to your heart’s content, and have as much sex as you like, any time of the day or night. And because of this new freedom the honeymoon brings, it is still a “first” of sorts even if you’ve already had sex together a hundred times before. This will give you time to do some exploration, and really get to know one another in the deepest sense.

Introducing the idea of sex toys

Your honeymoon is no time to be shy. If you’ve never experimented with sex toys with your loved one before, now is the time to start – if you’re afraid to bring it up now, then you never will. First of all, don’t assume that your partner will reject the idea; chances are they have already thought about it too. If it’s a whole new concept for the two of you, try the “special basket” approach. On your first night, put together a special basket of toys and sexy games. Pair it with something special to eat, such as some fresh strawberries, chocolate and champagne.

Believe it or not, some of the most erotic sex toys aren’t made of plastic or silicone – rather, they are things you eat and drink. Foods can be extremely erotic, and there’s nothing like starting your sexy night by feeding each other fresh berries and sipping a little wine (but not too much!). It’s not that great of a leap to go from licking whipped cream off of each other’s most intimate body parts, to breaking out a special toy to make your pleasure go to the next level.

What should you buy?

Now that you’ve gotten over that initial psychological hurdle, it’s time to make up that special “pleasure basket.” Just to make it seem special, decorate that basket with a little bow, and be sure to put your special foods (berries, wine, whipped cream) in there too, just to get things started. Don’t be disappointed if your partner doesn’t want to try every toy in the box, but at the same time, be prepared, and get a good combination. Chances are, your partner will have already thought of sexy underwear, but include something that excites you in the basket as well, so you can model something new for each other on your special night.

Now after the food and the clothes, we get to the hardware – you’ll want a dildo and a vibrator, but remember that each person’s body reacts differently, and these things come in all shapes and sizes. If you’re not absolutely sure what type of device your partner prefers, or if you’ve never used them before, get a good selection and let your partner select one to get things started. Get an appropriate lubricant to go with them (water-based lubricant for silicone devices, for example), and if you have one of the more exotic devices, don’t forget the instructions. When your partner asks you, “Where does that thing go?” you will want to have an answer. And finally, don’t forget the games, many of which can give you suggestions and encourage you to try things that you haven’t yet considered.
