Japanese Women Are Sexually Frustrated, Survey Says
Japan might be the home of fetish pornography such as bukkake and tamakeri, but that doesn't mean that Japanese women are getting any. In fact, a recent survey suggests that Japanese women are finding sexual release at their own hands rather than with their partners - and they're not pleased.
A recent survey conducted by the Japan Family Planning Association and condom manufacturer Jex shows that 71.3% of women indicated that they had masturbated in the last year. Of those women, 17.8% masturbate weekly, with 9.3% admitting that they masturbate at least twice a week.
This isn't because the average Japanese woman is particularly frisky: it's thanks to a direct lack of satisfaction with their sex lives, the researchers discovered. The survey unveiled new statistics which shows that 67.1% of unmarried women fake orgasms, with only slightly fewer married women faking it at 64.2%. With more than half of all orgasms being faked in the bedroom arena, it's no surprise that these ladies are taking matters into their own hands.
So why are all these women so unsatisfied? Are their expectations too high?
Sex counsellor Ai Aoyama is a former adult actress and claims that this sexual dissatisfaction is thanks to a new generation of men. These men lack enthusiasm and interest, she claims, and have no time or energy for foreplay. They're just not interested, she claims. They watch AV [adult video] flicks and think that just sticking it in is good enough, Aoyama said.
If something doesn't change in the way that sex is presented in adult films, or the way in which mainstream media represents sex as a wham bam, thank you ma'am activity, the unexpectedly high numbers of faked orgasms and overall dissatisfaction will continue to rise. And the result? Aoyama is clear in her prediction: this new generation of uninterested men don't stand a chance. A generation of women finding pleasure with middle-aged men will emerge, Aoyama confirms.
