Sex Toys as Birthday Presents

Sex Toys as Birthday Presents

By Ekaterina Mironova

I have a dilemma.

One of my best friends is having her 30th birthday in a couple of weeks and I want to get her something special. Something she’ll remember. I’ve trawled through the shops (online and high street) looking for a suitable gift but nothing has taken my fancy.

Then it hit me. What about a vibrator? She’s a happily single lady who has once or twice joked about how much she’d like a sex toy but would never buy one for herself. It can’t be coincidence that I’m the one this conversation is usually directed at; notorious for a lack of shyness about my body and my sex life, I’ve probably gone on about my favourite toys on far too many occasions.

So I took the plunge and sat down on the internet to search out a toy for her that wouldn’t be too inappropriate to give as a gift. She’s expressed distaste in the past for ‘massive black pvc dildos with horrible veins’ so I skipped past those pretty quickly. How about a classic rabbit? No. Love eggs? Hmm…maybe. Bondage gear? Definitely not.

I was starting to struggle when I came across the Ramsey Rabbit. I actually remember seeing it when I bought my Rocks Off Finger Tingles a month or so ago but dismissed it as a bit cutesy for my tastes. This was perfect though. It’s cute enough that if she’s horrified by the idea of being given a vibrator as a present I can laugh it off as a joke but if she’s as pleased as I hope she’ll be, she’ll appreciate the soft silicone, discreet size and the fact that it’s powered by the frankly brilliant RO-80mm bullet vibe!

My dilemma now though, is with her birthday just days away- when do I give it to her?! I can just imagine her parents’ faces over dinner…

I’d love to know what other people think. Would you buy a sex toy as a gift for someone?
