When she was given a chance to review the film, her expectations were not high based on the previous stories linked to it. Her curiosity was not fully fed by the movie as it doesn't fully on masochistic art. However, in her opinion, the movie was better than most books on submission. Ana played the sub role perfectly with no goddess or sugar-coating things though the story lacks a sense of inner monologue. She appears to be sparkier in "real life" than how the books propel her, one of the traits that make her lovable by the audience. 

Sophia's critics began with the set-up and direction of the movie by Sam Taylor. She discusses how the whole act lacked substance and a clear sense of real-life submissive sex. The dominant-sub relationship between Christian and Ana follows the same script similar to the Twilight Romance. It's highly fictional n can be visibly concluded that it has no connections to D/s relationship. She highlights the differences in power play compared to real-life situations. Christian displays abusive roles in his high-handedness affair. The scene where Christian Grey hits Ana with a belt is the only part we can somehow predict that he is about to have an orgasm. That part is not alluring and triggers negative thoughts, as shown in slow-motion, instilling the abuse motive in BDSM. The short sex scenes kill the hotness of BDMS encounters while the shot angles worsen the outcome. The movie was supposed to bring out the filthiness of ladies in sex but failed to fully convents it in all aspects of BDSM.

The movie is generally appealing to first-timers into the BDSM lifestyle and has greatly increased awareness of naughtier sex plays. It brought out how women can uniquely fulfill their sexual needs.

On the negative, the movie had a lot of shortcomings due to its mainstreaming style and script. Christiane lacks real chemistry with Ana as in realistic situations. For instance, in one scene, he is seen having sex with Ana with his trousers on, leaving the audience wondering if he has an areal penis or not. Ana is seen as despair crying with raindrops falling shows its fiction.

Conclusion

Fifty Shades of Grey is a great movie with lots of hype that projects how viewers enjoyed each scene. However, it gives a false picture of the real BDSM lifestyle. Sophie Morgan's book The Diary of a submissive was not meant to capitalize on the trendy bandwagon but to educate the masses on what BDSM truly is based on life experiences.
