Why Every Woman Needs To Build Self-Confidence

By Ksenia Sobchak

If you look for help on the internet about boosting self confidence for women, there is no shortage of helpful articles (about 39 million, but who’s counting).

It’s important that you realise that not all tips work for all people and this is due to the fact that each of us is unique in our own special way.

Whilst we personally haven’t read all 39 million article (halfway there), there are some common themes.

Paramount among them is to constantly feed your mind and your internal monologue with positive thoughts and suggestions. Read positive literature, talk with positive people, and even watch movies with a happy ending to reinforce to positivity in your thoughts, words and actions.

Ideally some of these will rub off on you and allow you to stop picking on yourself! We are our own biggest critics and you’d be amazed how much better life is when you aren’t putting yourself down.

For some women, the negative self-image stems from experiences that go back to childhood and their treatment at the hands of parents, relatives, siblings, teachers or others. People who have been down for so long may struggle to raise their self-esteem. It has been nailed to the floor, and it will be necessary to work extra hard to lift it back up.

So ladies, what can you do to increase your self confidence?

Step one is to forget the past if it is troubling you. You are in the present and the future is waiting to be explored. Stop dwelling about what has gone wrong in your life; throw away all those thoughts that make you feel regret or jealousy.

This is obviously much easier said than done, however ridding yourself of these thoughts will remove a big weight that is holding down your self confidence.

As we mentioned earlier, flooding your world with positive thoughts, images and suggestions is key to overpowering those negative emotions.

Look in the mirror every morning and tell to yourself you cherish yourself, flaws and all. If you do not love yourself and accept yourself, how can you expect anyone else to do so? Remember that the image you project to the world is what people see. The treatment you get from other people, be they colleagues, friends, or strangers, is a reflection of how they perceive you. This is not a statement on looks or clothing (although that can help), but rather a happy, confident, engaging person will be treated with respect and admiration, whereas a sullen, individual who dislikes themselves is likely to find the same thoughts reciprocated by their audience.

Confidence breeds more confidence, and a healthy body helps to build a healthy mind.

Make some alterations to your diet. Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables and find excuses to walk more to feel healthier and fitter. Exercise rewards you with endorphins and is a great way to reinforce those positive feelings and will do wonders for your self-esteem.

Just follow these most basic of tips to help you boost your self-esteem and push life up a notch!
