THE ETIQUETTE OF AIRBNB SEX

THE ETIQUETTE OF AIRBNB SEX

Airbnb is a new service that lets you find accommodation. Some people book Airbnbs for a wild night with their lovers. Learn the etiquette of Airbnb sex below, including bringing your towels, checking for cameras, and reading the house rules.

Airbnbs are significantly less expensive than lodging at hotels or motels. While having sex at an Airbnb is legal, you should try to be as careful as possible. For instance, if you're renting a room rather than an entire house, keep the noise down and the actual sex to the secluded sections of the property you're permitted access to. Having sex in an Airbnb isn't just risky for hosts; guests must also be cautious. However, this does not mean that you and your significant other can't have sex in an Airbnb. Read below to learn the nitty-gritty of Airbnb sex.

The Etiquette of Airbnb Sex

Your Hosts Know You Are Doing It

Airbnb hosts understand that by opening their homes to strangers, those strangers will do things like eat, sleep, relieve themselves, and engage in sex. As a result, they expect you to remove bed sheets with a two-finger pinch while keeping them fully at arm’s length at the end of your stay. It's the only natural approach to handle sheets that others have used. However, it does not give a reason to make a mess. Handle their bed as if it were your own. If you're the type who doesn't leave stains on their bedding, extend the same courtesy to your host.

Strip the Sheets Yourself

Even if you're not making a mess of the linens, strip the bed before checking out. If your host only has to pick up the pile and throw it in the wash, it will take less time and effort for them to clean up after you.

Bring Your Towels

This idea seems to apply to any time you have sex outside of your bedroom, but it's especially useful here. You can use towels to wipe up messes and set out on the bed to protect your gracious hosts' linens - without having to use theirs and denying you and your partner a wonderful fluffy bath towel.

Keep Your Moans To a Minimum

You and your spouse will have a private home or a separate guest house all to yourselves in the ideal Airbnb environment. However, you'll be sharing a home with your hosts in most situations, with only a wall separating you from them. Therefore, keep your noise levels low. This also applies to thudding headboards and squeaky bed springs.

No Surprise Guests

If you book as a couple, your host will presume you're having sex. However, you may find yourself in trouble if you plan to get busy with a random person from a Tinder match or your fuck buddy who resides in the area. If you live in a shared house, don't surprise your host by welcoming a stranger, especially if you paid as a single tenant when you first moved there. Most hosts will bill you extra to allow someone else into your booking. Your host may subject you to a bollocking, and your deposit may be forfeited. If your misbehavior is discovered early on, you may be ejected from the establishment.

Read the House Rules

Wang & Filieri (2020) noted that every Airbnb has regulations with crucial information. It's uncommon that a host will have a "no sex" policy, but you will pay if they do, and you break it. It's also important reading up on any rules that may apply to your specific sex plans, such as 'please don't disturb the kids' or 'don't make any noise after 10 pm.'

Check for Cameras

According to Mare et al. (2020), if a host has any monitoring gadget in or around a property, they must mention it in their house rules. If you see any cameras, forego any sex plans that you had. If the host hasn't disclosed surveillance, you should claim a refund.

Be Hygienic

Your host will most likely assume you'll be having sex in the bedroom. They won't expect you to use their cooking utensils for sexual enjoyment, that you will sit naked on the coffee table, or that there will be sperm in their shower drain. Your sexual fluids aren't toxic or unclean but don't come into contact with anything during sex if your host wouldn't think it needed to be cleaned.

Be Respectful

Have sex in the room you're staying in, not in other rooms. While you're doing that, don't look at the photos they've left around the house. Be confined in the room you have been allocated. If you have to move around the house, ensure it is to the common areas. They'll probably never know if you do, but it will make you feel better about your actions.

Do Not Move Too Much Stuff Around

Shahvali (2018) noted that couples have more sex on vacation, and they may be tempted to do it everywhere. If you're clean, respectful, and don't leave any proof. Unless you've had to rearrange things to accommodate all of your positions, it's difficult to put things back in the same positions before, and pushing sofas to clear space can result in scratches or other damage.

The Bottom Line

In a hotel, sex appears to be standard. People reserve hotels specifically to have sex. It's where affairs or nights away from the kids take place. Films and television have normalized it, and a daily visit from the cleaners keeps it clean. When compared to hotels, you could believe that the same-sex attitudes apply when staying in an Airbnb. However, the reality is a little more complicated, as clearly stated in this article. While a hotel room is clean and devoid of personality, with the same generic art prints on the wall and white linens in every room, part of the appeal of staying in an Airbnb is staying in someone's home, which has a homey feel to it.
